Planning an elf-escape during Covid-19

Taking a break this year has been more challenging than ever, but more important than ever too.

As I’m sure you can imagine, few people scoured the fine details of holiday accommodation’s Covid-19 measures more thoroughly than I did!

The winning formula?

A combination of regular communication - telling us what measures were in place, how they were adapting to changes as they occurred, and checking in with me personally before we travelled.

The importance of putting wellbeing on my personal and business agenda.

I have never been more in demand - people need support with keeping safe and complaint now more than ever, but in order to keep doing what I love and doing it well I needed to take some time out.

Doing it differently

Normally choosing a holiday destination is a combination of being near lots of interesting things to do in hopefully good weather.

This year it was much more about somewhere to BE and much less about somewhere to DO.

Somewhere we could be as much in a safe bubble as we chose to be – driving there, feeling secure in the Covid-19 measures that our accommodation had implemented, being somewhere that was a pleasure to be in without leaving the accommodation, but with things in easy reach to give us choices when we wanted to break out of the bubble.

The emphasis more on relaxing, refreshing, and restoring wellbeing.
